Our Mission

Huntsman Cancer Foundation exists to support Huntsman Cancer Institute’s mission: to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care. One hundred percent of the funds raised by our generous community of supporters go to further this mission.

About Huntsman Cancer Institute

Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah is a nationally recognized cancer center serving patients across the Mountain West. With multiple locations, telemedicine, mobile screening, and partnerships with regional hospitals, Huntsman Cancer Institute brings specialized cancer care closer to patients.

Huntsman Cancer Institute operates the only Phase I clinical trials program in the region, offering hundreds of trials, and is home to the Utah Population Database (UPDB), the world’s largest repository of health and genealogical records, where more genes linked to inherited cancers have been discovered than anywhere else.

Why Support Huntsman Cancer Institute

Huntsman Cancer Institute’s researchers and doctors are advancing discoveries that transform treatment and prevention, moving us closer to a future where cancer can be prevented and treated more effectively. Founded in 1995, Huntsman Cancer Foundation ensures the resources exist to continue this vital work. Huntsman Cancer Institute is the region’s only National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and Utah’s official cancer center, fully owned by the state and a gift to the community.
